We have seen a lot of activity in the property market this year, and prices have remained buoyant having increased slowly since January 2017. As ever, good properties in West Sussex are enjoying high demand, provided they are priced correctly and marketed well.
Overall there is still a shortage of housing in the south-east generally, and that includes West Sussex. The simple truth is that West Sussex is such a lovely area that more people want to live here than there are houses available. Quite rightly, new development is restricted within the South Downs National Park, although there is heavy pressure on land elsewhere for more residential development.
Other counties in the south-east are in a similar position, and have to negotiate a trade-off between retaining the natural beauty of the area and providing homes for which there is a high demand. All of this means that if you are thinking of selling your property you will be keen to obtain the maximum potential for your investment and to use an estate agent who is professionally qualified and reputable.
